The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk Assisted Living Residence (Tamarisk) is a community of Jewish Collaborative Services of Rhode Island (JCS), a full-spectrum non-profit senior housing and social services agency serving Rhode Island and nearby communities. Tamarisk and JCS care about your privacy. In addition to adhering to strict privacy policies in our dealings with clients, we are thoughtful about how we collect and use information through our websites. This privacy statement applies to the online activities of Tamarisk, in association with JCS, and the website, https://tamariskri.org.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

Tamarisk is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We collect and have access only to information that you voluntarily give us via email, webforms, or other direct contact from you. This may include your name, address, email address, and/or phone number. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our parent organization, JCS, other than as necessary to fulfill your request. We will retain your contact information until such time as you request that we delete it.

Tamarisk also uses online tools such as Google Analytics and Meta to collect and track information about website visit. This information allows us to monitor website usage and make improvements. These tools may store the IP address from which you access our website and they collect anonymous data elements in aggregate. This information cannot be tied to an individual:

  • The name of the domain used to access the internet
  • The type of device, browser, and operating system used to access our website
  • The date and time of a website visit
  • The length of a website visit
  • Demographic data including general location (approximate country, state, and city) and primary language
  • The pages, files and documents visited
  • The domain that referred a visit to Tamarisk’s website

Social Media

When you access or interact with Tamarisk through social media such as Facebook or Instagram, we may have visibility to your profile name and other information made public in connection with that social media platform.

Social media companies may also collect and share anonymous aggregate metrics with us regarding audience behavior, platform use, engagement (clicks, shares, etc), and demographics (age range, gender, approximate location). These social media companies are not operated by Tamarisk; use of their services is governed by their own privacy policies.

Web Beacons and Pixels

Tamarisk also collects non-personally identifiable information through the use of tracking pixels that appear on our website. A tracking pixel is a transparent graphic image (usually 1 pixel x 1 pixel) that is placed on a web page and, in combination with a cookie, allows us to collect information regarding the use of the web page that contains the tracking pixel.

We use tracking pixels to trigger ads on participating websites and social media based on activity tracked from the browser on a device used to visit the Tamarisk website. We also use them to tell when an advertisement we run on another website has been clicked on by Tamarisk website visitors, and use that information to judge which advertisements are more appealing to users.
